Often, we hear about this thing called “Your Truth” or “Your True Nature” ~ what does this mean?
I think alot of us hear that and we assume that there is one true nature that is us and we go seeking that, feeling frustrated if we don’t find it.
Is there a true nature that is YOU? Yes, I think so.
But, I don’t think it is a given, set in stone kind of thing.
One thing I tend to go on and on about is this idea that you get to create your life. This implies that you have a say, that there is not a given, already determined life purpose for you.
Who knows about fate and all that? I don’t. But what I do know, without question, is that you get to choose how you experience life.
You can choose to suffer and be miserable and complain about how sucky or hard life is.
Conversely, you can choose to love the journey, explore and discover, and fill your heart with love.
In any given moment, you have a choice.
Which brings me back to this true nature thing. I prefer to call it your essence. That sounds more flowy and fluid. Something you get to create vs. something that is automatically there.
In any given moment you have the opportunity to honor your essence. You can choose to experience it, dwell in it, savor it, engage with it. Or, not.
We all have a different essence that makes us – us. What thrills me and moves me and sparks my creativity will not be the same thing that gets you grooving.
How often do you take the time to experience your own essence? To honor it, to give it room to breathe and grow and blossom?
When was the last time you just sat and felt your own brilliant vibe?
Is your life an expression of your spark?
Are you living true to your own spirit?
Are you in touch with your own essence?
These are powerful questions to ask. Likely, your answer will be sometimes. There are, for sure, times when you are tapped in, connected, expressing who you really are. Then, there are times when you are going through the motions, and trying to live up to other people’s ideals and ideas about who you are.
The quality of your life is determined by how often you honor your own essence. How often you celebrate it, act from it. And to the extent that your life is a full on expression of beautiful, lovely YOU!
If your answer to the questions above is not very often. Don’t freak out! Don’t beat yourself up and feel sorry for yourself! That would be just more of the same.
Take a moment every day to just be. To listen ~ to honor what is in your heart. To what makes you tick, to what fills your life with purpose.
Then, bring that awareness and connection into your life.
Start small and watch those little sparks grow into a full tilt boogie blaze!
What makes your soul sing?
